Dignitaries flock to CIOTA Conference as Gov Sani, Ministers to deliver key addresses

The President of Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria (CIOTA), Prince Dr. Segun Ochuko Obayendo
has disclosed that they has concluded arrangement to host its 7th National Transport Conference from November 4th to 6th, 2025 in Abuja.
He made the disclosure during a media parley on Tuesday while speaking the importance of the conference which is targeted at enhancing the transport sector to reap its economic potentials.
The President explained that the conference promises to be a high-profile event, with dignitaries such as Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State who will serve as the Chairman of the conference, Federal Ministers including Adegboyega Oyetola, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Aviation, FCT and Works respectively.
He stated that the keynote Address Distinguished Senator Said Alkali, Honourable Minister of Transportation,as well as top government officials, Industry captains, and international experts to grace the event.
Dr. Obayendo emphasized that the event is aimed at bringing together policymakers, governance experts, transport professionals, and industry stakeholders to discuss pressing issues and potential solutions for Nigeria’s transport sector.
The CIOTA President stressed that the theme for this year’s conference “Repositioning Nigeria’s Transport Infrastructure and Governance Models for Global Competitiveness.” reflects our collective determination to align Nigeria’s transport and logistics systems with modern international standards that promote efficiency, sustainability, safety, and innovation.
“To further deepen discourse and engagement, the conference will focus on the following sub-themes Transport Infrastructure Development and Modernization, Governance, Policy and Institutional Frameworks, Technology and Innovation in Transport Systems, Inclusiveness and Participatory Transport Development.
” We want to assess the current state of Nigeria’s transport Infrastructure and identify key pathways for modernization and reform.
Deliberate on effective governance, Institutional, and regulatory frameworks for a coordinated, transparent, and accountable transport system.
He maintained that CIOTA major roles is to strengthen collaboration among government, private sector, academia, and professional bodies towards advancing Nigeria’s transport development agenda.
“The National Transport Conference remains the flagship annual gathering of CIOTA-bringing together transport professionals, policymakers, captains of industry, academia, and investors from across Nigeria and beyond.
“It provides a veritable platform for cross-sector dialogue, knowledge sharing, and the design of actionable strategies that will shape the future of the Nigerian transport, logistics, and supply chain ecosystem.”
