NAPHARM Set to Host 2025 AGM, Valedictory Session in Honor of Chief Oludolapo Akinkugbe

The Nigeria Academy of Pharmacy (NAPHARM) is gearing up to host its 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Valedictory Session, scheduled to take place at the Old Great Hall, College of Medicine, University of Lagos, Idi-Araba, from Wednesday, October 15 to Thursday, October 16, 2025.
Themed “Pharmaceutical Innovation: A Catalyst for National Development,” the event promises to be a landmark gathering of pharmaceutical professionals, policymakers, and stakeholders in the healthcare sector.
The AGM will review the academy’s activities, achievements, and strategic outlook, aligning with its 2025-2035 vision.
The Valedictory Session will pay tribute to the late Pharm. Chief Oludolapo Ibukun Akinkugbe, CFR, a founding father of pharmacy in Nigeria, who left an enduring legacy of integrity, innovation, and service.
The event will feature the investiture of 14 new Fellows and the conferment of 4 Lifetime Achievement Awards. Mr. Wale Oyedeji, Group Managing Director of FBN Holdings PLC, will deliver a keynote address on “Pharmaceutical Innovation: A Catalyst for National Development.” The ceremony will be live-streamed on PharmaStreamTV via YouTube and Zoom, enabling global participation.
NAPHARM’s efforts aim to advance pharmaceutical education, research, practice, and public health in Nigeria.
The academy’s president, Pharm. Ahmed I. Yakasai emphasised the importance of pharmaceutical innovation in driving national development.
This event is expected to bring together professionals, academics, and stakeholders to discuss pressing issues, share knowledge, and shape the future of pharmacy in Nigeria.
