‘We’re Bringing Structure, Trust and Technology into Nigeria’s Domestic Work Industry’ — MaidsNG CEO
Fast-growing technology and automation company, Digital20 Ltd, has unveiled MaidsNG, Nigeria’s first artificial intelligence-powered household and helper matching platform, in what industry watchers have described as a game-changer for the domestic work sector.
The new platform aims to intelligently connect households with verified domestic workers using AI-driven matching systems, automation, and a trust-based verification process.
Speaking at the official launch in Lagos, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Digital20 Ltd, Dr. Alex Lawal, said the initiative was driven by a vision to transform the way Nigerian families access reliable home assistance.
“Our vision is to bring structure, trust, and technology into Nigeria’s domestic work industry,” Lawal declared. “Every year, thousands of families struggle to find trustworthy, verified maids while thousands of capable helpers remain unemployed or underpaid. MaidsNG bridges that gap using intelligent automation and human-centered design.”
According to the company, it goes beyond being a directory or agency. It is a fully digital marketplace where households are instantly matched with suitable helpers based on their location, budget, and lifestyle preferences.
At its core is a multi-layer verification system that includes ID validation, background checks, and community ratings, ensuring every helper on the platform is verified and reliable before being connected to a family.
The platform also offers a real-time management dashboard where users can track payments, manage schedules, and review helper performance directly from their smartphones. In a move to foster inclusivity, Maids.ng’s multilingual AI voice assistant supports Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, and Pidgin English.
For families, MaidsNG eliminates the risk associated with unregulated hiring by offering transparent pricing and flexible payment options via Paystack and Flutterwave. For helpers, it provides access to consistent jobs, financial inclusion through digital payments, and career development through training and certification programs.
Digital20 Ltd believes the platform will redefine the domestic employment landscape in Nigeria, much like Uber reshaped global transportation. With an initial rollout in Lagos, the company plans expansion to Abuja and Port Harcourt, targeting 10,000 verified helpers and 5,000 active households within its first year.
“Our mission is simple to make finding trusted household help as easy as ordering a ride,” Lawal added. “This is not just a marketplace; it’s a movement towards safer, smarter homes powered by AI.”
