Osun 2026: At Declaration for Governor, Omisore Says APC Has 100% Chance of Winning

A Former Deputy Governor in Osun State, Senator, Iyiola Omisore has reaffirmed that All Progressive Congress (APC) chances in 2026 Gubernatorial election in Osun state are 100 percent, while he’s optimistic of winning more than 90 percent in the primaries coming up December 15th.

Speaking at the official declaration of his intention to contest for the position of Governor of the state in the 2026 election under the platform of APC, he said the party’s chances in 2026 were drawn from volunteers from the nooks and crannies of the state.

He said this “is just within the party and not the public, this is an internal politics, preparing us for the forthcoming primaries in December.”

According to him “The people here today are members of the APC from all the wards across the State. These are the people that asked Omisore to come out and vie for the ticket of the party. We are sure that with their support, Omisore will emerge as the party’s candidate.”

“Governance is a serious business and as a former deputy governor I have the most experience among other good aspirants of the party to fly the ticket and deliver victory come next year.”

Omisore said going forward, “I am expecting Osun State people to vote for APC en masse come August 8, 2026.”

“This is to show preparedness of the core APC members in the state, to show how ready we are to ensure that I become the party’s candidate by God’s grace in December, and to further strengthen the belief of the people in the coming APC government in Osun State.”

He remarked that the People of the state are expecting maturity governance, educational improvement, agricultural improvement, rural capital development, structural adjustment of the state, capital development, impartial policies, among others

Omisore stressed further that most importantly this is a very serious government, government is not a dancing matter, it’s a serious business and must be taken seriously by serious people.

In his own remarks, Ajibola Famurewa emphasised that “people here today are members of the APC from all the wards across the State. Iyiola Omisore (born 15 September 1957) is a Nigerian businessman, engineer, and politician who served as deputy governor of Osun State from 1999 to 2003.

Subsequently, he served as a member of the Nigerian Senate for Osun East from 2003 to 2011. He is a former national secretary of the All Progressives Congress.
