Mayor of Haringey, Oba Ogunlaja, Others Celebrate Okonkwo at EPRA Awards


The Mayor of London and Oba Adebisi Okubanjo, were among the distinguished guests celebrating Queen Florence Okonkwo as she was formally unveiled as the new Brand Ambassador of the EPRA Leadership and Entrepreneurial Awards.
The celebratory event took place on Friday, 26th September 2025, at the Regency Banqueting Suite in London.


The ceremony, which brought together a global audience of leaders from business, arts, and culture, saw Florence Okonkwo officially invested in her elevated role.


The UK-based Nollywood filmmaker, actress, author, and entrepreneur was celebrated for her longstanding support of the EPRA brand, having previously served as the “Face of the Brand.”
The investiture was a key highlight of the evening, formally positioning Okonkwo as a key global representative for the EPRA Awards, a platform renowned for honouring exceptional contributions in leadership and enterprise.


The event was graced by a host of high-profile dignitaries, including Ahmed Mahbub, The Worshipful the Mayor of the London Borough of Haringey, who presented an ambassador award. Other royal and civic leaders in attendance included Oba Adebisi Okunbanjo, The Obiri of Aiyepe Ijebu, Ogun State, Aliyeluwa Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja, The Aladeshoyin and Paramount Ruler of Odo Noforija Kingdom, Epe Division, Lagos State, Otunba Adesanya, Hon. Saray Karakus and Dominic Mbang, former Mayor of the Royal Borough of Greenwich.


The presence of such esteemed figures underscored the significance of Okonkwo’s new role and the cross-cultural impact of the EPRA Awards. The evening featured a red-carpet reception followed by an awards ceremony recognizing outstanding achievements in innovation and entrepreneurial excellence.
