First Lady Remi Tinubu Marks Birthday with Call to Fund National Library
Folalumi Alaran in Abuja
Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, celebrated her birthday in an unusual fashion yesterday, choosing to rally support for the completion of the National Library project rather than hold a private festivity.
The BAT Ideological Group, in a tribute signed by its convener, Comrade Bamidele Atoyebi, described her as “a sophisticated First Lady whose generosity, humility and leadership have touched lives nationwide.”
The group recalled her three terms in the Senate, her interventions for displaced families in Benue, aid to Kano accident victims, as well as her advocacy for public health campaigns.
Through her Renewed Hope Initiative, Mrs. Tinubu has funded bursaries, empowered traders and widows, and provided relief to flood victims.
“She embodies the virtues of loyalty, resilience and grace that inspire countless women and families across Nigeria,” the statement read.
