AFRH to Hold Fertility Conference, Announces Free Consultation

The Association for Fertility and Reproductive Health (AFRH) has announced Nigeria’s largest fertility conference, to be held in Lagos State, promising an open-door conference to all Nigerians, not just doctors.
Engaging journalists during a scheduled press conference about the 15th edition of the Annual Conference that will hold from September 23 to 26, 2025 with the theme ‘New Frontiers in ART – Road Map to the Future’, in Lagos, the Chairperson Local organizing Committee AFRH Conference 2025, Mrs Abiola Adewusi, said for the first time, they’re opening their doors to Nigerians with the focus on bringing the latest fertility treatments and hope to Nigerian families.
She said: “We’re done with the secrecy. Fertility problems affect one in six couples, but people suffer in silence because of shame and wrong information. The purpose of the conference is to educate our professionals on how to offer good practice to the patients. We have enough information and hands-on experts who will be attending.
“This year, we are doing what we have not done before. We understand there have been misconceptions and misrepresentations. This idea is to engage with the general public one-on-one. It’s free, but registration is compulsory. Those who can’t attend physically can attend virtually.
“Attendees will enjoy free one-on-one consultations with top fertility doctors, straight talk about IVF, egg/sperm donation, and surrogacy; real answers to questions you’ve been afraid to ask, and panel discussions covering everything from medical options to legal issues. The program is open to anyone struggling to get pregnant, family members who want to understand, or curious members of the public.”
Speaking further, Adewusi said the conference will also feature hands-on workshops for fertility professionals – Doctors, Embryologists, Nurses, and Counsellors, to learn the latest techniques.
“We’re tired of seeing couples suffer alone when we have solutions. This Open House will show Nigerians that fertility challenges are medical conditions with medical solutions – not shameful secrets. Every question deserves an honest answer. Every couple deserves hope,” she concluded.
The President-Elect of AFRH, Dr. Adewunmi Adeyemi-Bero, in his remarks, noted that the conference is to help families and also discuss what is obtainable at the internal level.
“This is to ensure that the couples who are trying to complete their family get the best. This conference is to look at current trends, what we have done in the past, what we have obtained internationally, and how to improve. The conference will also address what we are giving – technology and manpower in comparison to what it’s obtained internationally. More information and more knowledge to ensure we can deliver proper care to our population,” he said.
