Annabel Joseph Ojoboh Explores the Depth of Maternal Love in “My Forever Song.”

By Emmanuel Daraloye

Farther is the reach of a mother’s love to her child. It’s incomparable. Even less is the love of the finest archer’s arrow for its bow. In the tenderly orchestra-backed musical piece, “My Forever Song,” Annabel Joseph Ojoboh tells the tales of this love, bond, and eternity. Released on the 16th of April, 2025, Annabel composed and birthed this song to also remind all humans of their mothers and sacrifices, which are natural, unbreakable cords of love.

Annabel Joseph Ojoboh is a Nigeria-born, UK-based classical, opera and pop singer. The genesis of her giant musical stride started in 2017 when she joined several prestigious classical chorales and gained in-depth knowledge and experience in classical music as well as performance. Annabel did not only become an experienced professional artist but also one of finesse and grace.

On “My Forever Song,” Annabel bears a musical chest filled with gems, opulence, and splendor of a mother’s regal love using lyrics woven with figurative devices. Starting out with gentle chords and an opening vocalization, Annabel sings of “tiny hands, heartbeat so small.” After this synecdoche, she talks of  the beauty and the fulfillment of this dream that was utterly unbelievable. And now? She sings a beautiful melody because of this wonder, “Every note, every line / Every star in the sky aligns,” also to tell this amazing story of the mother and child.

Annabel’s vocal strength and power, as well as her experience of different musical genres and styles, adds to the overall feel of the song. Apart from the use of other musical-poetic devices, her use of rhymes makes the lines go in time from the inception of the new child to forever. And this is the simple message Annabel passes. To reiterate, the song is a praise of a newborn child, which fills her heart with so much joy, causing her to sing and say, “You’re my forever song.”

Produced by Ikechukwu Charles Onwubuya (Onyebeats), the song’s masterful production and clean mix truly meet a fine composition. He delivers a creative and gentle blend of instrumentation, which adds a soulful effect to the song with Annabel’s stirring words. His main use of piano, synths, soft drums, and others makes the tempo a slow one, causing a reflective mood. The song’s use of harmonies also enhances emotions. The pauses, the almost-silent moments, and the pulses in the song tell stories on their own, and they also aid the one being told by the vocal lead.

Annabel has made a name for herself in the musical scene. She currently sings with the BBC Leeds Bantam of the Opera choir, a group well known across England. With them, she performed a solo for HRH the king Charles III during his visit to Bradford. Annabel has also appeared alongside the BBC Singers on “Friday Night is Music Night” aired on 4th of July, 2025, and sang with the Chorus of Opera North at their Midsummer Concert on July 1, 2025. Beyond this, her music has taken her to major events in both the UK and Nigeria, including the Bradford African Festival of Arts, the Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust’s Mental Health Poetry Fundraising Event, and the Bradford City Council Excellence Service Award event.

With our doubt cleared, Annabel’s masterstrokes on global stages and this latest single, the world needs to halt and also be eager to listen more to her in the grandest form. “My Forever Song” forever remains one of those classics that tell the tales of a mother’s inexplicable joy and unbreakable love for her child. Annabel has given the world a gift to cherish.
