Man Attacked By Hoodlums Rushed to LASUTH, Needs N8m for Surgery
Oreniwon Ismail, a resident of Oshodi, a Lagos suburb, who is now in a critical situation between life and death, is begging for N8 million for urgent surgeries to survive a dastardly attack on him by some hoodlums in Mushin, another Lagos suburb.
On 9th July, Oreniwon, popularly addressed in his immediate community of Arowojobe as LC, was returning home from the Ogunmokun area of Mushin, and was accosted by some miscreants around the quiet railway line as he made to cross from the area to Palmgrove. The hoodlums stopped him to prevent him from crossing.
Without much altercation with them, he retreated and climbed to go on top of the new overhead bridge to try to escape.
The hoodlums caught up with him in the middle of the bridge not only to prevent him from crossing, but to give him a severe beating and in the process of struggling with him, threw him down from the bridge to crash on his face on the rail line, breaking his mouth and legs. They fled on seeing him bleeding profusely and unable to get up on his feet. Some good Samaritans consequently came to his rescue and took him to the Mushin General Hospital, where he got some emergency treatment, accompanied with an emergency Pelvic Asymmetry medical laboratory test by Fit Plus Healthcare that gave a report dated July 9, 2025 and signed by Dr. Ita. U, a Consultant Radiologist.
The report of the medical test, declares: “There is a multifragmentary fracture of the right acetabulum with extension to the ipsilateral iliac bone, as well as distortion of the iliopectineal and ilioischial lines, suggestive of anterior and posterior column and wall fractures.
“Also noted is a transverse fracture to the SS vertebra.
“A chip fracture fragment is seen interior to the interior to the right pubic bone.
“There’s widening of the pubic symphysis with external rotation of the right ischial bone. Mild widening of the inferior aspect of the left sacroiliac joint is also noted.
“The right sacroiliac and left acetabulofemoral joints are preserved. No dislocation of the scetabulofe moral or sacroiliac joints is seen bilaterally.
“The visualised proximal femora and left hem pelvic bones are intact. The bone density is normal. The overlying soft tissue planes appear normal.
“Conclusion: There’s the Right acetabular fracture, involving the anterior and posterior walls and columns with Tiles type C2 pelvic fracture.”
Initially transferred on the third day to the National Orthopedic Hospital, Igbobi for possible intensive care, Igbobi was said to have asked that he should be taken to LASUTH, where he had been, receiving mild care as the hospital is in demand of about N8 million for urgent surgeries on his mouth and legs.
He was referred back to the National Orthopedic Hospital, Igbobi, this week.
Married with children and his father, Pa Oreniwon, a popular community aged man, on sick bed now and not in position to fund such medical expenses or be able to do any running around to possibly raise funds for it, the embattled LC is in pain in the hospital right now, crying and begging for help to get the money for the surgeries, as doctors showed up daily for routine checks on him.
Appealing to all- community members, leaders, good spirited people, political leaders, well-meaning politicians and religious leaders- to kindly come to his aid with the sum in demand to carry out the surgeries, he begs that assisting efforts are channelled to his Rasheed I.B Union Bank Savings A/c No. 0006835139, praying to God to replenish the pockets of all that would assist for him to get the required N8 million for the surgeries.
He can also be reached at the National Orthopedic Hospital, Igbobi.
