2025 Engineering Week Begins July 21, Highlights Innovation, Infrastructure, and Sustainability in Nigeria

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Trans Amadi Branch, has officially announced the lineup of activities for the 2025 Engineering Week, scheduled to run from Monday, July 21 to Friday, July 25, 2025.
According to a statement signed by the Branch Chairman, Engr. Dr. Jonathan Francis, FNSE, Chairman of the Trans Amadi Branch of NSE, this year’s theme, “Engineering the Future: Innovation, Infrastructure & Sustainability,” will bring together leading voices in the engineering profession.


The event will be chaired by Engr. Margeret Aina Oguntala, FNSE, President and Chairman-in-Council of NSE. Other distinguished guests include Prof. Sadiq Z. Abubakar (President, COREN), Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, FNSE (Executive Secretary, NCDMB), Engr. Victor Bandele, FNSE (DMD, Deepwater Asset, TotalEnergies EP Nigeria), Engr. Adewale Fayemi, FNSE (MD TotalEnergies GRP Nigeria), Engr. Olatunji Akinwunmi, FNSE (ED CS TotalEnergies), Engr. Obi Imemba, FNSE (ED JV TotalEnergies), Engr. Alex Aghedo, FNSE (EGM AOBO TotalEnergies), Engr. Seun Faluyi, FNSE (National Chairman, NISafetyE), and Engr. Chief Giandomenico Massari, FNSE (President, Cycling Federation of Nigeria).
Pre-event activities will commence on Saturday, July 19 in Lagos and Port Harcourt, featuring a 5K Walkathon, Zumba Dance, Health Talk (Know Your Numbers), and Indoor Games.


The Opening Ceremony will take place on Monday, July 21 at Victoria Island, Lagos, and then followed by Technical Conference and Exhibition. The week continues on Tuesday, July 22 with the Annual Dinner in Victoria Island, Lagos.


The week will conclude on Friday, July 25 in Port Harcourt with a series of impactful events including an Industrial Tour, mentoring session for Young Engineers, and Orphanage Visits.
Speaking on the significance of the event, Engr. Dr. Jonathan Francis emphasized the need for reflection and action in the face of rapid technological change.
