The conference room buzzed with diplomatic significance as Prime Ministers from Jamaica, St. Kitts & Nevis, Antigua & Barbuda, and Bermuda participated in or made appearances at the historic side event, from Shared Roots to a Shared Future, curated by NTT Global Destinations.
Dr. the Most Hon. Andrew Holness not only declared the event officially open but participated in photo sessions with African delegates, reinforcing Jamaica’s commitment to leading Caribbean engagement with Africa.
“We are witnessing a revival of ancestral kinship now fortified by commerce and culture,” he said.
This cross-governmental participation highlights growing interest in formalizing trade and tourism exchanges across Africa and the Caribbean.
“Our shared prosperity lies in mutual investment, not just emotional heritage,” said Prime Minister Terrance Drew of St. Kitts during a brief exchange.
NTT Global Destinations confirmed its readiness to support upcoming CARICOM–AU meetings and relationships, with similar high-level sessions and cultural activations.
“Our work is to manually bridge the gap until systems are in place,” said CEO Elizabeth Agboola.
This milestone side event was powered by NTT Global Destinations, in partnership with Afreximbank, Jamaican National Bank, and the Motherland Reconnect Platform -a rising force in institutional cultural diplomacy.
