Four exceptional women who have demonstrated remarkable dedication to service, advocacy, and humanitarian impact are set to be honoured at the prestigious 2025 Nigerian Humanitarian Awards and Magazine Gala, scheduled to take place on Friday, August 22, 2025, at the renowned Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja.
These women—Hon. Mrs. Ngozi Enih, Prophetess Joy Chinyere, Hajiya Rabietu Okute, and Queen Vivian Onuigbo—have emerged as powerful symbols of compassion, leadership, and purposeful service, representing different sectors but united by a shared passion for improving lives.
Hon. Mrs. Ngozi Enih – Humanitarian Women’s Affairs Commissioner of the Year
Leading this distinguished list is Hon. Mrs. Ngozi Enih, Commissioner for Children, Gender Affairs, and Social Development, Enugu State. Hon. Enih is being recognized as the Humanitarian Women’s Affairs Commissioner of the Year for her transformative leadership in championing gender inclusion, child protection, social welfare, and policy reforms across Enugu State.
Her ministry has implemented several initiatives including the rehabilitation of abused children, empowerment of women-led households, safe space projects for survivors of gender-based violence, and ongoing advocacy for child rights. Her work has not only impacted the state but has served as a model for others across the country.
Prophetess Joy Chinyere – Humanitarian Faith Leader of the Year
Prophetess Joy Chinyere, General Overseer of Victory by Mercy Prophetic & Deliverance Ministry, will be specially recognized as the Humanitarian Faith Leader of the Year. Known for merging spirituality with service, she has led consistent monthly humanitarian outreaches to hospitals, correctional facilities, and orphanages—offering both material and spiritual support to hundreds.
She has also funded and overseen the construction of homes for the homeless, the clearing of medical bills for indigent patients, and even the establishment of a free hospital dedicated to the underserved. Her acts of service continue to restore hope and healing in communities often overlooked.
Hajiya Rabietu Okute – Humanitarian Affairs Commissioner of the Year
Also recognized is Hajiya Rabietu Okute, Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Kogi State. She will receive the award for Humanitarian Affairs Commissioner of the Year for her proactive engagement with the most vulnerable groups in Kogi through empowerment programs, food distribution, skills acquisition schemes, and inclusive welfare strategies.
Her approach is both responsive and systemic—working directly with displaced persons, rural women, youth, and elderly citizens to bring social relief, strengthen resilience, and foster dignity.
Queen Vivian Onuigbo – Humanitarian Beauty Queen of the Year
Rounding off this inspiring cohort is Queen Onuigbo Kosisochukwu Vivian, the reigning Miss Eco Nigeria 2024, who will be conferred a Special Honour as Humanitarian Beauty Queen of the Year. Queen Vivian has consistently used her platform to advocate for the environment, promote menstrual hygiene in underserved communities, and raise awareness around girl-child education.
Through her foundation, she has distributed eco-friendly sanitary kits to hundreds of schoolgirls, led tree planting campaigns, and hosted workshops on climate education and self-esteem building for teenagers across rural regions in Nigeria.
