Michael Ekwemalor: Supporting Infrastructure Development in Nigeria

Infrastructure development in Nigeria continues to rely on a combination of government policy, private sector participation, technical capacity, and long-term investment. Progress across sectors such as transportation, housing, and energy is often influenced by how projects are executed within local conditions while maintaining established engineering and operational standards. Stakeholders across the construction and engineering industries remain involved in efforts to address infrastructure gaps nationwide.

Michael Andre Ekwemalor, a Nigerian engineer, entrepreneur, construction executive, philanthropist and a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers. He obtained a bachelor’s degree before completing a Master of Business Administration at Lagos State University. He also attended the Advanced Management Program at the University of Oxford. In addition, he holds a diploma and professional certification in civil engineering from institutions in the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom, and is affiliated with professional engineering bodies.

Ekwemalor, began his professional career in 2006 at Dejoroe Nigeria Limited as a procurement officer after completing the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). He was later promoted to site manager, where he was involved in coordinating construction activities and overseeing site operations over a three-year period.

After working with serval companies in the construction sector, he moved into executive management, he currently serves as Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Mase Group, a construction and engineering company with operations in Lagos and Abuja. The company’s activities include civil engineering, property development, and energy-related projects.

Michael has worked with the Federal Ministry of Water Resources in Abuja. He has been involved in several construction projects in Nigeria, including projects described as having national significance. His work has focused on applying technical processes within local operating conditions, particularly in housing, energy, and infrastructure delivery.

He remains engaged in construction and infrastructure-related activities in Nigeria, including involvement in project execution and development practices across the sector.
