Seaman’s Schnapps Joins Ota People to Celebrate Ita Oba Fiesta

In a majestic celebration of cultural heritage, spiritual tradition and community pride, Seaman’s Schnapps, Nigeria’s original number one prayer drink from Nigeria Distilleries Limited, lit up the 2025 edition of the Ita Oba Festival held at Ipeti Royal Square, Olota Palace, Ota, Ogun State, reaffirming its role as a guardian of sacred moments and ancestral honour.
Organised under the authority of His Royal Majesty, Oba Adeyemi AbdulKabir Obalanlege, Lanlege Ekun II, Arole Iganmode, Olota of Ota, the Ita Oba celebration brought together royal fathers, cultural societies, political dignitaries and the sons and daughters of Ota in a colourful gathering of identity, reverence and festivity.
A key highlight was the libation ritual, where Seaman’s Schnapps was ceremonially poured in prayer for Nigeria’s peace, prosperity and unity. This sacred act reinforced the brand’s timeless role as a conveyor of blessings and spiritual continuity, a drink that has journeyed through generations in rites, rituals and royal celebrations.
The festival also featured a cultural fashion parade proudly sponsored by Seaman’s Schnapps, with the brand awarding cash prizes to the top three performing groups.
The Council of Iyalodes in Ota Awori Kingdom claimed first place, impressing attendees with elegance, coordination, and cultural finesse.
Senior Brand Manager for Seaman’s Schnapps, Mrs. Nnenna Uche-Onyenacho, spoke on the significance of the occasion. “Ita Oba is more than a festival—it is a divine convocation of heritage and community spirit. At Seaman’s Schnapps, we are honoured to walk this spiritual journey with the people as the drink of prayers, poured in sacred trust for answered prayers.”
Marketing Manager at Nigeria Distilleries Limited, Mr. Gbemileke Lawal, echoed that “This is where our values align with the people’s heartbeat. Seaman’s Schnapps remains committed to celebrating Nigeria’s rich traditions while standing as a symbol of authenticity, respect and unity.”
The celebration welcomed esteemed guests including Her Excellency, Engr.Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Deputy Governor of Ogun State, who described Ita Oba as a homecoming of spiritual significance. She urged participants to use such gatherings as opportunities for connection and pride, highlighting that “your network is your net worth.”
Other prominent attendees included Engr Tunji Akinosi, Member of the House of Representatives (Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency); Hon. Wasiu Lawal, Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government; and Mrs. Omobolaji Akinde Omotade, who commended guests for their dedication to tradition.
Traditional rulers added their presence to the occasion, including Oba Clement Akinyemi, Ajana of Ota Aworiland; Oba Abdulkareem Odunaro, Onikotun of Ottun Ota; and Oba Wadudu Ajani Deinde, Oloruba of Oruba Ota, among others, reinforcing the deep bond between the throne, the people and the land.
His Royal Majesty, the Olota of Ota, praised the turnout of cultural groups, societies and families, describing their participation as vital to preserving the town’s heritage.
He also commended Seaman’s Schnapps for its role in sustaining cultural tradition.
