Eze Igbo Ghana Sympathises with Families of Air India Crash in Ahmedabad
… Calls for a more stringent aviation regulation polices
The Igbo diaspora king in the Republic of Ghana— His Royal Majesty, Eze (Dr.) Amb. Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu (Ezeigbo Ghana)— has joined all people of good conscience around the world to sympathize with the Indian government, British nationals, Canadians, Portuguese and bereaved familes of the victims of a London -bound Air India Air carrying 242 passengers and crew members as they crashed in Ahmedabad’s Meghani city near the airport shortly after take-off; leaving all the passengers onboard dead except one survivor.
In a statement personally signed by the respected Igbo diaspora King in Ghana, Eze Ihenetu , and made available to his Country Director on Media Strategy and Communications, Njoku Macdonald Obinna , Ezeigbo Ghana was captured to have said inter alia:
“I received rather with rude shock and sense of loss the heartbreaking news about the Boeing Dreamliner plane crash that took off around 1.47 Pm on Thursday—June 12, 2025— and slightly delayed from schedule but unfortunately crashed 9 minutes after being given clearance for take-off with all passengers and members of crew onboard perishing except one lucky survivor. Of truth, this is one of the most traumatic news to hear.
From the Obieziukwu , Obigbo diaspora throne in Ghana, we extend our prayers and deepest condolences to the families and friends of all those affected by this tragic incident; an irreparable loss .
Ezeigbo Ghana, Dr. Ihenetu, while expressing his condolences and that of the Igbo community in Ghana, however, called on the designated aviation regulatory bodies to investigate the incident and put up stringent aviation rules and compliance mechanism, which involves adhering to regulations set by national and international bodies to ensure safety and security in air travel.
Making reference to aviation industry experts, Eze Chukwudi Ihenetu said that these regulations cover a wide range of areas, including licensing of personnel, aircraft certification, airport operations, and air traffic management Non-compliance can lead to penalties, including fines, suspension of licenses, or even legal action, ” Eze Ihenetu maintained.
