Yakubu Dogara Marks Eid-el-Kabir with Message of Hope, Sacrifice, and Inclusive Growth

As Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara—former Speaker of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the National Credit Guarantee Company Limited (NCGC)—has conveyed his felicitations to the Muslim community, calling for reflection, selflessness, and unity in nation-building.

Dogara, in his Sallah message, highlighted the significance of the festival as a symbol of unwavering devotion and moral fortitude.

“Eid-el-Kabir teaches us the value of surrendering our personal desires for the good of others. It’s a reminder that true greatness lies in sacrifice, compassion, and shared responsibility,” he said.

Dogara’s message also pointed to his new national assignment as Chairman of NCGC, noting the role the institution will play in revitalizing Nigeria’s MSME sector.

“By supporting small businesses with credit guarantees, we are laying the groundwork for inclusive prosperity and stronger economic participation across all regions,” he noted.

He used the opportunity to urge Nigerians to transcend religious, ethnic, and political divides for the greater good of the country.

“Let us move forward as one people with shared dreams. This season should inspire us to foster peace, support one another, and uphold values that unify us,” Dogara said.

In closing, he offered prayers for a successful celebration and a brighter future for the nation.

“May Allah accept our sacrifices and prayers, and may He bless our homes, communities, and country with peace and progress. Eid Mubarak!”
