‘Step into the Light with your Pens’, Literary Students Initiative Urges Young Nigerian Writers

In a bold move to spotlight the untapped literary brilliance within secondary schools, Stark Pages Literary Students Initiative, a not-for-profit organisation, has called on young Nigerian writers to pick up their pens and step into the light.
The NGO is inviting original works in prose and poetry from eligible secondary school students across Nigeria.
In a statement, it said: “It’s more than a competition — it’s a platform to be heard, celebrated, and remembered.
“Are you a secondary school student with stories that stir or verses that speak truth? This is your moment.
“We invite original works in prose and poetry from secondary school students across Nigeria. It’s more than a competition — it’s a platform to be heard, celebrated, and remembered.
“Prizes to be won include 1st Prize, ₦500,000; 2nd Prize: ₦300,000; 3rd Prize: ₦100,000.”
The schools of the winning students will receive matching prizes to boost their library fund. Because we believe great writers come from well-read communities.
“The Top 50 entries will earn their place in a published Anthology, cementing their literary legacy.
“Deadline for submissions: May 31, 2025,” the statement added.
