Reemergence of Kelly Anthony

With his latest singles, Pagans featuring Sarkodie and Larusso, and Untimely featuring Vory, projects the results of immersing Kelly Anthony, in the music beats coming out of Lagos – and the wider afrobeats scene – in the last 10 years.

Starting off his musical career in 2017 with his first single, “Oceans”, Kelly Anthony’s EP, The African Prince, documents his coming into his African heritage via silky beats crafted by Kel P and several other producers.

The project’s lead single, Filo, ft. Wande Coal sees the Canada based Nigerian artiste craft a euphoric bop displaying a cadence that pays tribute to afropop’s extemporaneous quality.

Real name, Kelly Anthony Osaretin Osifo, born in Benin City, Edo State Nigeria, is a Nigerian artiste, born on 5th May 1989 in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria to Gabriel and Kate Osifo.

He grew up in an environment with so much freedom of choice and exposure around him. He attended Nightygate Primary School, University of Benin Staff School. His emergence in the music scene dates back 2017 with songs, including Unstoppable.

Kelly Anthony has stayed consistent in sonic and lyrical quality. Starting right from the off with his 2017 single, Oceans, where he vulnerably narrates his unequivocal expression of love, Kelly Anthony has maintained an image of a royal Casanova.

His artistic tapestry has seen him holding onto his Nigerian identity as an anchor while he navigated life in the North American city, and music was always the channel to express how he felt and holding on to his believe.
