Sagamu, Nigeria – The Remo Secondary School Old Students Association (RSSOSA) has officially unveiled the logo for the institution’s 80th-anniversary celebration. The emblem, chosen through a democratic voting process involving alumni members, will serve as the symbol of the milestone event set to honor the school’s rich legacy and achievements.

The selection process, conducted on the association’s general WhatsApp platform, saw members vote between two proposed designs. The winning logo emerged with the highest number of votes, reflecting widespread acceptance among the alumni community.

Speaking on the development, RSSOSA President, Aare Adetola EmmanuelKing, emphasized the importance of the event, describing it as a reflection of the unity and dedication of former students.

“This 80th-anniversary celebration is a significant moment in our history. The unveiling of this logo is just the beginning of what promises to be a remarkable event. We appreciate everyone who participated in the selection process and look forward to celebrating eight decades of excellence,” EmmanuelKing stated.

The logo unveiling follows the recent appointment of Aare Wemmy Olumide Osude as the Director-General of the 80th Founders’ Day anniversary. Osude, who also serves as the Chairman of the Ilisan Development Association (IDA), was selected based on his leadership experience and commitment to the school’s progress.

Describing the appointment as a “perfect fit,” EmmanuelKing highlighted Osude’s extensive track record in organizational management and his passion for advancing the school’s legacy.

In his acceptance speech, Osude expressed gratitude to the RSSOSA leadership and pledged to oversee a historic celebration.

“I am deeply honored by this appointment and the confidence reposed in me. This role is a call to serve, and I am fully committed to ensuring that the 80th-anniversary celebration will be a remarkable and unforgettable event,” he stated.

With the anniversary fast approaching, Osude, in collaboration with the RSSOSA Executive Committee, has begun assembling various planning committees to oversee the successful execution of the event.

Founded on February 4, 1946, by Anglican and Methodist Church missionaries, Remo Secondary School holds the distinction of being West Africa’s first co-educational secondary school. The institution was recently recognized as the Best Secondary School in Ogun State by the state government, underscoring its longstanding commitment to academic excellence.

The 80th-anniversary celebration is expected to attract prominent alumni, dignitaries, and stakeholders, reinforcing the school’s role in shaping industry leaders and global professionals.
