Michelle Adaware Tackles Graduate Unemployment Crisis in Nigeria with MICHCCS Level Up Program

For decades, Nigerian youth have faced a harsh reality. Earning a degree does not guarantee employment. Despite their years of education, many graduates find themselves unprepared for the job market, struggling with skill gaps, lack of career guidance, and limited access to opportunities. With employers seeking experienced professionals and market-relevant skills, thousands of young Nigerians remain unemployed or underemployed, unable to transition successfully into the workforce.

Michelle Adaware, an HR Consultant, Career Coach, and Workforce Development Strategist, understands this crisis firsthand. Having worked with thousands of graduates, she has seen the frustration of job seekers who are qualified on paper but lack the practical skills and experience employers demand. Determined to change this narrative, Michelle founded Mich Consulting and Career Services (MICHCCS) to bridge the gap between education and employment. She is on a Mission to Impact Lives and Alleviate Unemployment around the Globe.

The MICHCCS Level Up Program (MILUP): A Game-Changer for Nigerian Graduates
Recognizing that traditional education alone is no longer enough, Michelle launched MILUP (MICHCCS Level Up Program) A youth-led initiative aimed at equipping undergraduates and recent graduates with the high-demand skills needed to be employable and comp
etitive. This four-week intensive program prepares participants through comprehensive training in:

  • CV Writing & LinkedIn Optimization – Helping graduates present themselves professionally online and offline.
  • Interview Coaching & Job Search Strategies – Giving them the confidence and knowledge to navigate the hiring process.
  • Workplace Readiness & Soft Skills Training – Ensuring they thrive in professional environments not just with practical skills but skills inherently in them that can be improved or developed.
-Digital & Tech Skills Exposure – Preparing them for modern industries where technology is key.
  • Career Mentorship & Possible Job Placement/ Networking Meetups – Connecting them to industry leaders who can guide their careers.

Participants also gain access to a private job and internship community, personality assessments for career decision-making, and post-training career support.

Michelle’s Mission: Shaping the Next Generation of Skilled Industry Leaders
“Our biggest challenge is that many Nigerian graduates believe a degree is the golden ticket to employment but in today’s world, it isn’t,” Michelle stated. “The job market is constantly evolving, and those who succeed are the ones who level up their skills and adapt to industry needs. Milup was designed to help young people take control of their careers before they even graduate.”

Through MILUP and other career empowerment programs under MICHCCS, Michelle is working to reshape the future of work in Nigeria. Her vision is clear: To build a generation of skilled, employable, and self-sufficient young professionals who are ready to lead in their industries.

MILUP also aims to change the mindset that young people must wait until after NYSC to seek gainful employment. Instead, it emphasizes that students can equip themselves with the right skills while still in school, gain valuable experience, and even start earning money before graduation. By taking advantage of these opportunities early, graduates can enter the workforce fully prepared and competitive.

The first cohort of Milup is dedicated to International Women’s Day where Michelle will be empowering 50 young women to level up their Career. The first cohort is now open for registration, and interested participants can sign up by following us on Instagram at @Themilupprogram (Click here) for updates.
