Popular Comedian, Ogbuefi I Go Tuk to Be Honored in Anambra

Popular comedian, Johnmary Chukwumesiri, also known as Ogbuefi I Go Tuk, is set to be honored with the “Best Comedian of the Year Award, 2024” in a special ceremony that will take place in his home state, Anambra.

The event, AMTY Awards , which will hold in Awka, 22nd of March,2025 is expected bring dignatries from all walks of Life to the capital City..

According to Director, Media of the AMTY Awards, Dr Odogwu Emeka Odogwu, AMTY was birthed to celebrate exceptional individuals either from Anambra or who lives in Anambra and making exceptional impact in their respective fields. “Ogbuefi I Go Tuk will be celebrated for his outstanding contributions to the world of comedy.”

Speaking further, Odogwu highlighted out Ogbuefi’s remarkable journey, citing his evolution from a budding talent in Nnewi to a seasoned professional who has captivated audiences with his unique brand of humor.

He showered encomium on Ogbuefi for his dedication and resilience, noting his remarkable progression from a novice in 2000 to a seasoned performer who hit his stride in 2021.

He added, “Ogbuefi’s comedic style, which artfully captures the essence of hardworking Onitsha businessmen and their shrewd lifestyles, has resonated with audiences across the country. Through his skits, he skillfully portrays the nuances of business interactions and societal norms, earning him massive followership.”
