Coalition of Civil Society Organizations Commends Kebbi State Governor for Pro-Education Initiatives

A coalition of civil society organizations has commended the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for his administration’s commitment to education and social development.

Speaking at a press conference, Ambassador Lukman Lawal, National Coordinator of the coalition, praised Governor Idris for approving ₦585.4 million to cover tuition fees for 100 Kebbi students studying in India and local institutions.”

“This monumental step is a testament to the governor’s dedication to securing a brighter future for our state,” Lawal said. “It is rare to see such a strong commitment to education funding at this scale, and we commend His Excellency for taking this bold initiative.”

The coalition also highlighted the governor’s prioritization of education, healthcare, and economic growth, positioning him as one of Nigeria’s most progressive state leaders.

“Governor Idris has set a remarkable standard in governance, particularly in the areas of infrastructure development, agriculture, and healthcare,” Lawal added. “His efforts in constructing and rehabilitating roads have improved connectivity, while his support for farmers through irrigation schemes is helping to boost food security.”

In the area of healthcare, the coalition acknowledged Governor Idris’s initiatives to improve access to affordable and quality medical services.

“The administration has made significant strides in improving health indices in Kebbi State,” Lawal stated. “Through investments in medical facilities and services, more people now have access to quality healthcare.”

The coalition also praised the establishment of the “Kebbi State Commission for Persons Living with Disabilities,” a move aimed at promoting inclusivity and social justice.

“This initiative ensures that people living with disabilities are not left behind,” Lawal remarked. “It is a clear indication that this government is committed to fairness and equal opportunities for all citizens.”

Furthermore, the coalition lauded the administration’s youth empowerment programs, which provide training and employment opportunities.

“By focusing on skills acquisition and job creation, Governor Idris is helping to reduce unemployment and build a stronger workforce for the future,” Lawal said.

Reaffirming their support for the administration, the coalition emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government and stakeholders in driving positive change.

“We recognize the significance of working together with the government to achieve sustainable development. As civil society organizations, we will continue to support the administration in its quest to improve the lives of Kebbi citizens.”

The event concluded with a pledge from civil society groups to maintain their partnership with the government, ensuring continued progress and sustainable development in Kebbi State.
