Bolt Upgrades Driver App Chat With  Ability to Translate Speech to Text

Bolt has upgraded its Driver App chat with a groundbreaking speech-to-text translation feature, empowering driver partners to dictate messages instead of typing. This innovation enables seamless communication with passengers, facilitating a smoother ride-hailing experience.

To utilize this feature, drivers simply tap the microphone icon, grant permission for the app to access their phone’s microphone, dictate their message, review and edit as needed, and send it to the rider.

Initially available on Android devices, this feature bridges language gaps between local drivers and international tourists across Bolt’s 50+ markets. It complements existing communication tools, including in-app calls, chat messages, and language programs.

This upgrade follows recent enhancements, such as Driver Compliments, which recognize exceptional service and motivate drivers through shared positive feedback.

“At Bolt, we prioritize effective communication between drivers and riders,” said Yahaya Mohammed, Country Manager. “This upgrade enables Nigerian drivers to communicate effortlessly with riders, supporting a high-quality platform through seamless communication tools.”
