Fashion outifit, Ranto Clothings has recorded increased patronage from United Kingdom–based clients following its styling engagements at Nollywood movie premieres held in Manchester and Birmingham recently.

The Lagos-based fashion label, led by Bright Urhobo, styled several Nigerian actors for the UK premieres, placing the brand before a diaspora audience and industry stakeholders outside Nigeria.

According to Urhobo, the exposure translated into enquiries and orders from clients resident in the United Kingdom and other parts of Europe.

“After the premieres, we began receiving direct enquiries from individuals who attended the events and others who saw the coverage. That opened conversations beyond Nigeria,” he said.

He explained that servicing UK-based clients required adjustments to the brand’s production and coordination process. Measurements were handled with greater precision, virtual consultations became more structured and delivery timelines were recalibrated to meet international shipping schedules.

“The expectations are different when you are working across borders. You must be precise with documentation and timelines,” he noted.

Urhobo said the brand is consolidating its UK relationships while refining its ready-to-wear offerings to accommodate international clients who may not have access to multiple fittings.

The expansion, he added, reflects the gradual internationalisation of Nigerian fashion businesses leveraging cultural events as entry points into new markets.
