PDP Alleges Vote-buying in Yenogoa

Barely one hour after the commencement of voting in the governorship election, the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Bayelsa State Chapter has alleged vote buying against the APC in the election.
The PDP in a statement signed by Ebiye Agu Ogoli, State Publicity Secretary, called the attention of “the general public to an electoral fraud being perpetrated by the All Progressives Congress (APC) where they have been caught deviously buying PVC’s of gullible voters with the sum of #50,000 with intent to rig Saturday’s Governorship election; and this is happening in Yenagoa metropolis particularly in Onopa, Amarata and its environs; We are shocked by the desperation of the APC and condemn it in its entirety. We take exception to this absurdity and call on the Security Agents to arrest the culprits and bring them to book. In the meantime, we call on our Party Agents, and potential voters to do the following on election day:

The party insisted “that they collect the list of BVAS machines sent to the Registration Area; confirm the total number sent; taking note of the serial number of the BVAS machines and cross-check same against the serial number on the master sheet from the RAC centre.

“That on day of election, voters should check to confirm that the BVAS machines read 0 before accreditaion commences.

“That BVAS machines be purged to confirm total number of voters accredited before they begin actual counting of ballot papers sent to the polling unit;

“Ensure that no voter approach the ballot box to cast his/her vote with more than one ballot paper; ensure APO’s do not issue more than one ballot paper to any voter.

“Ensure that Presiding Officers display result sheet to the general public before entering the scores of each political party;

“That PDP calls on INEC, the National Commissioner i/c South-south, Supervising REC’s, Electoral officers, SPO’s etc to maintain neutrality, act in a fair and transparent manner with all political parties contesting the Governorship election.”
