Bolanle Austen-Peters Gets on with ‘Wire Wire’

After the newly concluded project, “House of Gaa”, and awaiting its release, award-winning director, Bolanle Austen-Peters’ Productions begins principal photography of their new project, “Wire Wire”. BAP Productions commenced the shoot of their new movie with an incredible and phenomenal cast.
Among the cast members are Blossom Chukwujekwu, Neo Akpofure, Bisola Aiyeola, Erica Nlewedim, Boma Akpore, Lilian Afegbai, Bucci Franklin, Olarotimi Michael Fakunle, Lasis Elenu, Emeke Nwagbaraocha, Kelvinmary Ndukwe, Onyeka Fiaka, Abayomi Alvin, Uzo Osimkpa, Jide Kosoko, Shaffy Bello, and Tacha.
Bolanle Austen-Peters earlier posted on her Instagram page, “Started Wire Wire with an incredible line-up of phenomenal actors and amazing story.” She further teased with behind-the-scenes clips showing some of the lead cast like Blossom Chukwujekwu and Bucci Franklin whom she praised dearly.
“The magic is real. The energy and vibe of these set of actors is so beautiful. Everyday I get goosebumps at the delivery and just smile thanking God for the gift of creativity and to be blessed with so many talents around me,” she said on set of the movie. Though not much is given on the plot.
Since ‘Bling Lagosians’ was launched at the box office on the 16th of June, 2019, none of Bolanle Austen-Peters’ products has been to the cinema, although her biopic title, Funmilayo Ransome Kuti was at the cinema for just one week from Friday 8th of September, 2023 as part of the requirements to be fulfilled for being shortlisted for Oscars.
‘Bling Lagosians’ grossed a sum of N120.13 million. Four years after the hiatus from the big screen, is Bolanle Austen-Peters making a comeback to the cinema with Wire Wire? For now, nothing is yet to be said about the distribution channel that the film will be taking.
In an exclusive with Shock, Austen-Peters admits that she would love to come back to the box office when she gets the muscle to push such an adventure. “Wire Wire” could be that movie she has exerted the energy on.
Bolanle Austen-Peters Production’s Netflix Original, Man of God, won two awards, The Best Nigerian Film and The Best Costume Design in the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) 2022. The title was released on the 16th of April, 2022. The title stars Akah Nnani, Osas Ighodaro, Jude Chukwuka, Ayo Mogaji, and Dorcas Shola-Fapson.
Aside from movie productions, Bolanle Austen-Peters Productions has done numerous stage productions. They include Motherland The Musical, The Trials of Brother Jero, Moremi The Musical, Fela & The Kalakuta Queens, and Saro The Musical.
