Joshua Aaron Honoured by LEAP Africa for Tech Innovation and Youth Impact

Digital Strategist and youth advocate, Joshua Aaron has been honoured by LEAP Africa in the 2022 Social Innovators Programme and Awards (SIPA) for his transformative work using technology to drive youth empowerment and social impact in Nigeria.

The annual SIPA awards, hosted by LEAP Africa in partnership with the Ford Foundation and other stakeholders, celebrate outstanding young leaders under 35 creating sustainable solutions to local challenges.

Aaron was recognised for his hands-on leadership and societal impact, including the training of over 700 young Nigerians in high-demand digital skills and analytics—especially in underserved communities.

LEAP Africa cited his approach to building inclusive, scalable tech programmes as a model for sustainable youth development.

His work combines practical technical training with mentorship, community engagement, and industry partnerships—creating viable pathways into tech employment for disadvantaged youth.

The SIPA 2022 cohort was selected through a multi-stage process assessing innovation, impact, and potential for scale.

Aaron’s recognition highlights his growing influence as a digital innovator committed to unlocking opportunity and driving systemic change through technology.
