Edo youth group congratulates Senator-Elect, Aminu Waziri
Edo state youth Parliament, through the office of honourable speaker, Osawemwenhio Uwagboe on Friday, 21st, congratulate the Executive Governor of Sokoto State, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, the senator-elect of Sokoto South Senatorial district on his victory at the supplementary National Assembly elections held on Saturday April 15th 2023.
Tambuwal, a two term governor and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) emerged winner with a total number of 100,860 votes.
With a vote margin of 4,976, he defeated his closest rival of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and incumbent senator, Abdullahi Danbaba Dambuwa who scored 95,884 votes.
The Returning Officer, Professor Abubakar Abdullahi Bagudo, announced the results on Sunday at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Bodinga Local Government Area of the state.
In a joint congratulatory message made available to members of the press, by the group’s speaker and Director of Finance, Conference of State Youth Parliament Speakers,
the group stated that Aminu’s resounding victory at the polls, confirms the will of the people adding that he has consistently demonstrated capacity over the years.

Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, the senator-elect of Sokoto South Senatorial district on your victory at the supplementary National Assembly elections held on Saturday April 15th 2023”
“Your victory at the polls albeit delayed, was never in doubt as your sterling achievements as Governor of the caliphate state; as well as your enviable legislative experience as member and speaker of the house of representatives were enough to convince your people to entrust their votes in you as they believe in your capacity to offer them effective representation at the red chambers.
“We pray God to grant you the wisdom to make the right decisions in the interest of your constituents..
