Corporate Organisations Throw Weight Behind DOAM Foundation Charity Golf Tournament
As the date for the finals of the eleventh edition of the Daniel Ogechi Akujobi Memorial Foundation Charity Golf Tournament draws close, organisers of the event have informed that a number of Corporate institutions have thrown their weight behind the event.
The event is scheduled to hold on February 26, 2022, at the Golf section of Ikoyi Club 1938, Ikoyi- Lagos.
According to a statement from DOAM, “the notable sponsors include; Flour Mills of Nigeria Limited, Access Bank Plc, Total Energies, ARM Pension Managers, Air Peace Limited, First Bank of Nigeria, KPMG, Radial Circle Group, Seplat Energy, Cornerstone Insurance, Channels TV, Grand Oak, Cappa & D’Alberto , Custodian & Allied Insurance, SPAR(Park ‘N’ Shop), Radisson Hotel, Victoria Crown Plaza, Seven-up Bottling Company, Ikoyi Club 1938 and many more.”
The DOAM finals, notable for its unique tournament day experience, will feature about 180 players in the draw.
It adds that participants are expected to feature in an 18-hole stroke play contest, with winners to be rewarded later in the evening at a prize giving cocktail event.
It also added that, “The DOAMF Annual Charity Golf Tournament’ could not be held in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic however, with the containment of the virus and appropriate health and safety measures, sporting and other recreational activities have been rejuvenated,” the foundation noted.
Meanwhile, according to the coordinator of the DOAMF Charity Golf Tournament, Pat Bassey, the different levels or support offered by the sponsors and individuals will go a long way in helping the Foundation increase its reach and touch more lives of the vulnerable and less privileged children and youths.
He said, “We feel very honoured that these corporate organisations and individuals see our efforts in bettering lives as a worthy cause to invest in. And as we have done over the years, we will be accountable and resolute in ensuring resources are prudently utilised in changing more lives “, he said.
Also, statistics from the foundation revealed that from the inception of the Foundation till date, over 88,000 lives have been touched out of which 3,000 were reached during the worst periods of the COVID-19 pandemic and economic meltdown, in 2021.
Bassey added that, “We get to do all these from the funds raised from the golf event, and that is why we value every measure of support we get from corporate organisations, groups and individuals “, Bassey added.
“The cocktail event in the evening of the tournament day would be featuring prize giving to winners, with more opportunities to also interact with all our partners and donors and to appreciate those that are keeping the Foundation’s charitable works afloat.”
