Gov Sule Calls for Imbibing the Spirit, Teaching of Christmas
Igbawase Ukumba in Lafia
The Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahhi Sule, has called on Christians in the state and in diaspora to imbibe the spirit and teachings of the festive period by showing love and affection, sharing of alms with one another at all times as enshrined in the Holy Book.
Governor Sule made the call in his Christmas message he personally signed and issued to journalists in Lafia, where he reminded Christians that the birth of Jesus Christ symbolises love, peace, humility and, indeed, dignity for the human race.
“It is for this reason that Jesus Christ embodies self-sacrifice, good neighborliness, charity and reconciliation among humankind. This festive season, therefore, calls for sober reflection and reaffirmation of moral rectitude as epitomised by Jesus Christ.
“Let me also take the liberty of this blissful occasion to remind all Christians on the significance of this sacred period to continue to pray for the sustainable peace, health, well-being and prosperity of our nation’s economy,” he said.
The governor concluded by asking the celebrants to take advantage of the festive period to pray for the restoration of peace, security and harmonious co-existence of Nasarawa State in particular and the country at large.
