Nasarawa to Link 100 Trained Youths to Finance Houses

The Nasarawa State goverment yesterday said it will link up the 100 youths, the state was currently training under its Employability and Entrepreneurship Programme as Chief Executives, with finance houses to assist them develop their small projects.

The state deputy governor, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, disclosed this when he visited the venue of the 2021 Employability and Entrepreneurship Training Programme organised by the Nasarawa State Human Capital Development office, in partnership with Oxfam Nigeria and Poise Graduate Academy.

He also expressed confidence that the participants, after completing the training, would attract employers in a scheduled job fair planned for them on November 18th and that they will be able to start businesses of their own and be employers of labour.

Akabe said: “The job fair is where we are bringing the employers and employees together. We are hoping and praying that some of them will be able to grab jobs of their own.

“Not only that as they are also been trained to be chief executives of their own and it is an opportunity to link them up with some finance houses to see how the finance houses can assist develop the small projects that they have.”

Also speaking, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Governor Abdullahi Sule and Focal Person Nasarawa State Human Capital Development office, Hajiya Habiba Balarebe-Suleiman, said the organisers had been able to impact on participants 21st century skills aimed at making them employable and self reliant.
