Tosin Clegg
When you find clothes that feel like they were made just for you, everything feels different in a good way. You walk a little taller. You smile without even thinking about it, and you feel seen. That is the feeling Arivee promises with every single design they create.
Arivee is not just another fashion brand. It is a brand built on the idea that every woman deserves to feel elegant without having to try too hard. At Arivee, beauty feels natural. Style feels easy. From the first sketch to the final stitch, every piece is made to bring out your best side, no matter your size, shape, or style. Every colour is chosen carefully to stand out and be classy enough to last beyond just one season.
The brand believes in pieces you can wear again and again. These are clothes that stay with you through seasons, memories, and milestones. The brand also cares about making luxury feel reachable. Fashion should not be a dream that only a few people can afford. Arivee brings you quality, design, and elegance at prices that make sense. You do not have to break the bank to step into something special. You can live your best, stylish life without limits.
It is no wonder that Arivee has caught the eyes of fashion lovers both in Nigeria and abroad. With features in top magazines and appearances at major fashion events, Arivee is building a strong name for itself. But more importantly, it is building a strong community—women who know that looking good and feeling good should always go hand in hand.
Leading this exciting journey is Chimdalu Victoria Arinze, a passionate Nigerian designer who turned her love for fashion into a mission. She created Arivee in 2017 to bring elegance, individuality, and comfort to the wearer. Arivee showed off an amazing new 2021 collection. They include beautiful clothes that show the bold and bright spirit of the Arivee woman. Let’s dive in and see what makes this collection so special!
The first outfit is a bright green one. It mixes old-style kimono clothes with a fun, modern twist. The big sleeves, the bright colour, and the loose pants make them feel light and easy to wear.
Sleeve and Neckline
The kimono-style wide sleeves make the outfit feel very free and bold. The sleeve length hits the right spot — not too short, not dragging too much. It gives the arms a nice flow when moving. The jacket doesn’t have a neckline, but the black top underneath has a round neckline that makes the outfit look a bit more normal. The tie-dye effect at the sleeve edges is playful and adds some fun movement to the look. To improve, the sleeve could have a slight shape or slit to show more wrist for a lighter, airier look.
The Wow Factor
The outfit makes you stop and look. The green is bold and fresh, and the tie-dye effects pop nicely. It feels very lively, youthful, and ready for someone who likes to make a statement. However, the wow fades slightly because the black top underneath looks basic and doesn’t match the drama of the jacket and pants. A more special top would have helped. Also, adding a little shape (like a belt) would punch up the drama even more.
The Silhouette
The silhouette is strong and wide, giving a soft but powerful feel. The loose pants with ruffled sides bring a unique twist that feels fashion-forward. The kimono shape floats well and matches the volume of the pants. Still, the whole body gets a little lost in the fabric. Pulling in the waist slightly with a belt or a tailored underlayer would have kept the beautiful flow but added some body shape. A little structure would make the figure pop without losing the easy vibe.
The Craftsmanship
The stitching on the kimono and pants looks neat. The tie-dye fabric is placed well without awkward cuts or seams. The fabric choice is good. The ruffles down the side of the pants are done well and add a lovely surprise to the plain green. On closer look, though, the inside finishing on the kimono (edges and seams) could probably be cleaner. A lining inside the kimono would help the garment look even richer and smoother.
Retail Readiness
This look is quite close to being retail-ready, especially for a bold, artsy market. The colours are exciting, and the fit is forgiving, meaning it can work for different body types. However, for real retail success, the outfit would need a few tweaks. Fixing the inner top for something more premium would add elegance to the outfit. Also, the finishing inside the kimono could be better polished to raise the price point.
The next piece in the collection is an organza jacket with dramatic ruffled sleeves paired with loose trousers. Its dream-like quality and bold structure make it perfect for standout moments but also raise important questions about practicality and polish.
Sleeve and Neckline
The exaggerated ruffles at the wrist feel dreamy and dramatic, perfect for a statement moment. The sheer organza fabric makes the sleeves feel light and breezy, not heavy. The deep V-neck looks great and helps make the body appear longer and slimmer. But the big collar feels a bit too large for the soft fabric and takes away from the beauty of the neckline. A smaller collar or a simple, sharp lapel would let the neckline and sleeves stand out.
The Wow Factor
This piece feels playful, elegant, and fresh, like something you’d see on a stylish runway. The combination of sheer texture and bold sleeves grabs attention instantly. But the wow power could slip slightly if worn for a regular event because the volume might feel too much for casual spaces.
The Silhouette
The silhouette is nicely built, with a strong top half and a relaxed bottom half. The cinched waist gives a nice hourglass feel without being tight. The wide pants balance the drama of the top and keep the look from feeling heavy. However, there’s a little bunching around the waistline. Using a stiffer belt or an inner seam to control the gathering would make the waist look smoother and sharper.
The Craftsmanship
The craftsmanship is strong, especially for a tricky fabric like organza. Organza can easily lose shape, but this piece keeps its structure well. The seams look clean, and the ruffles hold their drama without looking cheap. Still, the inner finishing (especially inside the sleeves) might need reinforcement because the organza can tear if not supported properly. Adding tiny internal taping could prevent damage and give the garment a longer life.
Retail Readiness
This outfit is close to boutique-ready, especially for shoppers who like dramatic fashion. The jacket and pants combo looks expensive, and the bold sleeves would photograph beautifully for marketing. However, for wider retail success, slight changes are needed. A sleeve with smaller ruffles will be easier to manage for day-to-day wear.
The next piece within the collection is a mint front cropped shirt with wide-legged pants that deliver a modern streetwear vibe. The easy tailoring, soft colours, and relaxed fit give off a youthful energy.
Sleeve and Neckline
The sleeves are relaxed and slightly ballooned, giving a soft, casual feel. The cuffs pull the volume back in nicely, making it polished but still easy-going. The drop-shoulder cut also keeps it relaxed, perfect for a trendy, everyday look. The neckline is a classic collared shirt neckline, which grounds the style and keeps it clean. The sleeve length could be pulled up just a little bit to give more wrist definition.
The Wow Factor
This outfit is simple but still gives a “cool girl” vibe. It’s not screaming for attention, but it’s quietly stylish. The soft mint colour is fresh and modern, and the wide pants bring drama to the lower half. The wow factor comes from the laid-back but stylish contrast between the cropped front, structured top, flowing back and flowing pants. To boost the wow even more, a slightly more fitted or structured hem on the shirt could help sharpen the cropped look and make it pop even harder against the wide trousers.
The Silhouette
The silhouette is strong, short on top, long and flowing at the bottom. The cropped length hits just right at the waistline, highlighting the wide leg cut perfectly. The pants move beautifully and bring a lot of drama with their volume. However, there’s a little “boxiness” happening with the shirt that could drown a petite wearer. Adding subtle darts or shaping at the back of the shirt would help create a stronger, more flattering line without losing the relaxed feel.
The Craftsmanship
The craftsmanship appears clean and professional. The buttons on the shirt are well placed, giving even spacing and avoiding gaping. The trousers fall smoothly, which shows good fabric cutting and strong tailoring skills. The seams and stitching look neat in the photo. A slight improvement would be reinforcing the bottom edge of the cropped front with stronger hem tape to prevent rolling after washes. For the pants, an extra inner lining at the waistband could help the structure stay sharp with repeated wear.
Retail Readiness
This outfit is very close to being retail-ready. It’s trendy, simple, and flexible. The colour palette is fresh and perfect for spring or summer drops. Still, sizing needs care. The crop cut must hit the right place on different body types, so multiple-length options or adjustable hemlines would be ideal.
