We’ve not Received any Petition against Katsina Ward Congress, Says Committee

By Francis Sardauna

The Congress Appeal Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina State has said that it has not received any petition against the recent ward congress conducted across the 361 electoral wards of the state.

The Chairman of the Committee, Mr Yakubu Bello Bashir, made the disclosure while submitting a copy of the committee’s report to Governor Aminu Bello Masari at the Government House.

He explained that the appeal committee members were given the mandate by the national secretariat of the party in Abuja to receive petitions that might have arisen from the ward congress in the state.

According to him, the five-man committee did not receive any official petition against the ward congress from any member of the party in the state.

He said: “We came so that APC members who felt aggrieved with the exercise can approach us in order to ventilate their grievances but we have not received one and our timeline has therefore expired with regard to such notice.

“We waited for 24 hours and no complaint received and we deem it fit to prepare our report and submit it to His Excellency, Governor Aminu Bello Masari.”

Receiving the report, Governor Masari explained that majority of the APC members were satisfied with the way the congress was conducted in the state.

He added: “Our local organising committee was able to deal with all the complaints that came during the congress and dealt with them satisfactorily.

“I am sure majority of APC members were satisfied with the way the congress was conducted across the state.”
