The member representing Langtang North-North constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Pirfa Tyem, has embarked on a massive reconstruction and renovation of schools in his constituency.

Giving his midterm project report, the lawmaker, who also provided boreholes in some communities in Langtang, said he got uncomfortable with the level of dilapidation in some of the school structures, hence his decision to intervene.

According to him, “So far, I am constructing three blocks of classrooms at the Government Secondary School, Zamko, and work is also ongoing at Mabe, where another two classroom blocks are near completion. There are two other blocks of classrooms at Nderem.”

Tyem said aside from schools, he has also constructed a police outpost at Zamko and renovated another at Kuffen district.

On empowerment, the lawmaker said he has distributed 100 grinding machines to constituents and also distributed 80 crafted wheelchairs to persons living with disabilities.

“We have also distributed wrappers to vulnerable and aged women in this constituency.

“I recently facilitated the first phase of planting of 10,000 economic trees to control erosion at Langtang North Dam and also expanded Langtang North Dam for its integrity to meet up seasonal and irrigation purposes,” he disclosed.
