The joint opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) caucus in the National Assembly has backed the electronic transmission of election results in the country.
The Caucus has therefore lent its support to the recent position of the Southern Governors that the provision should not be tampered with in the proposed Electoral Act Amendment Bill billed to be presented to the two chambers of the National Assembly before it goes on annual vacation by July 15, 2021.
Chairman of the Caucus and Senate Minority Leader, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, made this known at a news briefing after plenary in Abuja on Wednesday.
According to him, the caucus also believes that five percent should be voted for the host communities trust fund in the Petroleum Industry Bill recently passed by the National Assembly.
