It’s no surprise then that Cheche, the vibrant host of the mid-day show ‘Oga Madam Office’, is the muse for an extraordinary art piece by the talented Gbonjubola Obatuyi.
Titled ‘Inner Peace’, the artwork is part of a stunning collection of artworks by Obatuyi, alongside works from other talented artists, presently exhibiting in the Modern Matriarchs Exhibition currently on display until March 9th at Windsor Gallery, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The OAP, who also wears the hat of Group Brand Manager for Wazobia FM Lagos, adding depth to her multifaceted presence in the media landscape, says that being the muse for such a meaningful creation is a humbling experience.
“To see my style interpreted through the lens of (visual) art is a true honour,” she remarks.
Obatuyi herself is a visionary Nigerian artist renowned for her mastery in fabric-based artwork, channels her creative prowess into ‘Inner Peace’, a captivating blend of fabrics, oil, and acrylic weaving a tapestry of vibrant hues and floral motifs that captivate the senses.
Reflecting on the inspiration behind her work, Obatuyi shares, “Cheche’s African essence, from her distinctive style to her majestic hairstyle, resonates deeply with me. Through my art, I aim to celebrate our African heritage and feminine beauty, and Cheche embodies these ideals effortlessly.”
