Laleye Dipo in Minna
Jibrin Ndagi Baba of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared the winner of Saturday’s rerun election for Lavun Local Government House of Assembly.
Baba polled 22,393 votes to beat seven other candidates that contested the election.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate came a close second polling 20,802 votes, while the Social Democratic Party (SDP) contestant recorded only 21 votes.
The results were declared early Sunday by Prof. Emmanuel Raymond, who said the election was “free and Fair”.
There was wild jubilation from APC supporters after the announcement of the result.
