Babcock University Has No Fake Professor, Says Management

Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, has condemned a faceless online post that claimed that the institution and some others have fake professors.

Last week, a list purported to be from the NUC named 100 professors across both private and public universities, as fake.

In a statement, the acting Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Chris Maiyaki, disowned the viral list saying that it is fake, untrue, and a figment of the imagination of the authors.

The list also elicited reactions from the managements of the affected tertiary institutions.

The Director of Communication and Marketing, Babcock University, Dr. Joshua Suleiman in a statement, described the list, which he said was spuriously attributed to the NUC as ill-motivated and utterly mischievous.

He explained that the university has a reputation for due diligence and rigorous search for and recruitment of its academic staff.

“Babcock University takes more than a keen interest in the quality of education offered to her students, and she would do nothing to undermine their future by recruiting academics with fake professorial credentials or any disputable certificates for that matter.”

The statement reiterated that the university is guided by strong values that will dissuade her from compromising on quality, integrity, responsibility, and honest service to God and humanity.

“While we continue to relentlessly pursue and advocate meritocracy in our institutions, we urge our students, parents, and the public as a whole to disregard and spurn, with every sense of responsibility, the evil-inclined publication,” the statement added.

“We assure the public of Babcock University’s constant and consistent delivery of high-quality education.”
