After two consecutive away loses to Abia United and Plateau United, Enugu Rangers in their quest to end the 2023/24 Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, season on high would be targeting their first away win as the team storm the Samson Siasia Stadium tomorrow.

The Flying Antelopes are currently placed 12th on the NPFL log with 11 matches played while Bayelsa United are rock bottom on the log with 10 points from the same numbers of games as their tomorrow’s guest.

Rangers had a good start to the start of the season and were on top of the NPFL at a stage, and since the team’s 2-0 victory against Heartland in the Oriental Derby the Flying Antelopes are yet to taste victory in their last four matches-drawing two and losing two.

Against Plateau United last weekend, Rangers put up a superlative display before a large crowd of fans at the New Jos Stadium, Zaria Road, Jos, but were denied any share of the spoils as the host ran away with a 2-1 victory.

However, a very optimist Rangers coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu believe boys are closer to their first away win on the road than ever.

Ilechukwu in a post-match chat said, “The game has been won and lost. A very good game from both sides. This was a game we proved that we are capable of getting some good results on the road but today, it was just hard luck for us as our best player on the field missed a seater that would have turned the complexion of the match. That is football for you and we keep working till we get it right.”
