The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has said that a total of 21 power station projects are yet to be completed in the Southeast region.

General Manager, Enugu Regional Headquarters of the TCN, Emma Akpa made this known Friday, during a facility tour of power stations in Enugu State.

Akpa noted that the delay in the completions of the power stations were caused by youths, who according to him, often institute court actions and demand compensations for damages.

He said that the dream of making Southeast an industrial hub will not be achieved if the power stations that would power the industries remain uncompleted.

“The Southeast now has the highest number of uncompleted power stations in the country,” he said. “It is painful that the people are the ones who are sabotaging the federal government’s efforts to develop the region in terms of providing power,”.

He however pointed out that the company under its current Chief Executive Officer, Sule Abdulaziz, has embarked on massive infrastructural expansion, including upgrading of power substations in the zone.

“Within the past two years, under the current TCN Management, there has been tremendous infrastructural expansion across the country,”he said. “Our Substations are being up-graded,”.
