Flavour Nabania, real name Chinedu Okoli, wants his fans across the continent to know that beyond blood or status, there’s more to Africans than meets the eye and that’s through music. The neo-highlife artiste echoed this in a post he shared on his Instagram page preceding his album released December 1, 2023.

The new album titled, ‘African Royalty’ packs 12 tracks with guest appearances from Nigerian highlife duo – Cavemen, Ghanaian singer Efya and indigenous musician Ejyk Nwamba, known for his dominance in the Afrobeats/highlife genres.

The album is Flavour’s eight album coming three years after his last album, ‘Flavour of Africa’.

‘African Royalty’ is preceded by the release of ‘Big Baller’ which weaves a spellbinding tapestry of Igbo drums, enchanting trumpet melodies, and contagious cultural refrains. And the hit single ‘Game Changer’, his 2022 hit ‘Levels’ whose pro max version is among the 12 tracks on the album.

Since dropping his debut album ‘N’abania’ in 2005, Flavour has been one of Nigeria’s most consistent artists. His discography, mostly of hit songs, includes mega smash hits like ‘Ashawo’, ‘Ada Ada’, ‘Shake’, ‘Oringo’, and ‘Levels’. With his new album, a collection of singles that fuses Igbo highlife music with Afrobeats, R&B, and folk serves another testament to his musical excellence.
