Niger Gets N21.7bn from FG in Two Months

The Niger State government has raked in an unprecedented N21.7 billion from the federal government in the last couple of months.
The state got N8.6 billion from the Excess Crude Account (ECA), N5.9 billion from the Development Fund and N7.2 billion from the Paris Club refund.
The House of Assembly had last Friday gave its nod for the executive arm of government to spend the amount.
Governor Abubakar had earlier in the week presented a supplementary budget capturing the total amount before the legislature and when the legislators met on Thursday, they gave the go-ahead for the money to be expended.
The House said in a statement by its Head of Media and Protocol Sabo Adamu that its Committee on Finance and Appropriation presented its report to plenary which was favourably considered by the Committee of the Whole House.
