Yesterday, ThisDay published a report online under the heading ‘Large Turnout as Anambra Voters Defy IPOB Threats’ in which it wrote that ‘voters turned out en masse’ for the election. But the results released by INEC show that voter turnout was lower than 22%.
I’ve learned to take every story I read in ThisDay with a grain of salt because I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve read stories in this ‘newspaper’ which turned out to be false.
ThisDay should try to avoid becoming Fake News.

    • Ralph

In 2013 the turn out was 25%. Put things in perspective

      • Mo

Digging out just one election result from the past to compare with this one is not putting things in perspective. In any case, we’re not comparing voter turnouts here.
The point I was making in my post is this: ThisDay reported, in absolute terms, a large voter turnout in an election in which only 22% of registered voters voted. That is poor journalism.

Congrats to Obiano and Anambra people. Anambra has been blessed with good governors from Ngige to Obiano unlike IMO state that is reeling from the tyranny of a suspected lunatic.

    • Don Franco

      Dear Mr. Ezeifedi:

You must have been dead when Mbadinuju was riding roughshod in Awka? You may as well also celebrate that your Anambra “bu isi Igbo”; and the rest of us are inferior to you. .. any wonder with your level of stupidity that the Ikwere and Delta Igbo want nothing to do with Igboland. …? Anu Mpamu!

      • Tony Ezeifedi

Sorry you got me wrong. I am from Imo State, from Orlu precisely. I envy Anambra people for being lucky with good governors. Have you gone round Imo State to see the number of abandoned projects? Okorocha started those projects, knowing fully well that he would not complete them, he used them to win his second tenure in office. Immediately he got his second ticket, the projects were abandoned. Even the contractors were not paid: 27 new general hospitals abandoned, primary school projects abandoned in almost every village in Imo state including my village, Ihitenansa. I am not dabbling into payment of salaries and pensions nor into his dubious free education where Imo State has dropped from first position in WEAC and JAMB to seventh position.

        • Don Franco

My sincerest apologies for my misconstruannce of your meaning. I’m from Oru East, myself. … Oguta.

Congratulations to Obiano, APGA and Anambra people for showing maturity!

  • Chris Ibeakuzie

Congratulations Obiano!!! Continue with your foundation laying projects. We all hail and support U!!!
