287 Illegal Medicine Stores Sealed

No fewer than 287 illegal medicine stores operating in Kogi State have been sealed by the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN). The pharmaceutical and patent medicine stores were sealed up for various professional infractions. This was disclosed on Friday during a press conference in Lokoja by Deputy Director of Enforcement, Pharmacist Stephen Esumobi who noted that the council was charged with the responsibility of ensuring rational distribution and dispensing of medicine across the country, averred that many pharmaceutical premises in Kogi State commenced operations without fulfilling the minimum requirements for operation. He further lamented that while others failed to renew their operational licenses, many patent medicine store owners did not have the requisite knowledge to handle the products in their shops.
