FGGC Sagamu 1986 Alumni Visit to Their Alma Mata

On October 2, 2017, the 1986 Alumni of the Federal Government Girls’ College, Sagamu, Ogun State, were at the school premises to donate 31 academic and non-academic awards to the students (commensurate to the year of graduation from the school).

The donation was in line with their theme ‘Giving Back to their Roots’, an annual contribution to their Alma Mata which they commenced in 2015. The pupils were reminded that they all had one thing in common which was to succeed in life. They were encouraged to take full advantage of the opportunity given to them to study at FGGC Sagamu, acquire knowledge and graduate with outstanding grades.

In support of a beautiful and ever greener environment, the old students planted flowers on the school premises on the same day and donated over 100 recommended eye glasses to the pupils following the conclusion of eye tests. Gifts were also presented to the staff in recognition of their assiduous effort to ensure that the students excel academically.

Projects completed by the 1986 old girls in 2016 included the ceiling and painting of the school’s chapel and sinking of a water borehole near the classrooms. Numerous awards were also given to the pupils including a scholarship award to a JSS pupil. Emeritus awards were issued by Mrs. Babalola (nee Maduagwu), Pa Adubifa, Mrs. Ayoola – the First Principal of the school and Late Pa Oyewole.
