Meristem Introduces MeriGame to Stimulate Stock Trading

Meristem Securities Limited has introduced a platform meant to stimulate investors’ interest in stock trading in particular and the capital market in general.

Called MeriGame, the platform was launched to bridge an identified gap between practice and actual trading.

Speaking at the public presentation of the platform at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) in Lagos, yesterday, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Meristem Securities Limited, Mr. Wole Abegunde, the platform is the exact replica of our MeriTrade platform giving access to trade all available stocks on the floor of the NSE.

He said:”Merigamewww.game.meritrade.com was launched to bridge an identified gap between practice and actual trading. Stock trading by oneself is generally perceived to be scary and doubt-ridden. MeriGame is here to demystify the process while setting users up to trade real-time confidently.

According to him, users get funded with virtual funds to simulate financial capacity in real life trading as well as regular tips and recommendations to guide them in making choices on stock trading.

“That is not all, the platform has an ongoing championship game tagged ‘MeriGame Championship.’ The championship rewards the top three winners financially with N100,000 at the end of each conclusive period. The winners of this game are the top three traders with the highest returns on the platform,” he said.

Meanwhile, the trading at the stock market was bearish yesterday as the NSE All-Share Index depreciated today by 0.81 per cent to close at 36,669.61 , compared with the appreciation of 0.33 per cent recorded the previous day.
