According to him, “So many stakeholders in the North-east are shying away from the negative implication of the Almajiri system due to political motives. When you look at system itself, it was suppose to make these young children become great, but how make of them actually become something in life”.

She also said “The Almajiri system of education has been bastardized because what initiated it in the first place was because there was inadequate knowledge of the Islamic religion, so young men who were interested in acquiring the knowledge were made to travel to places like Sokoto, Maiduguri to get the knowledge”.

“During that period the world was a safe place, but now almost in every neighborhood in our environment, we have these Isamic teachers and the essence of the system is now defeated”, She said.
