Galaticos Dream World Corporate Soccer Championship

Captain of Team Galaticos, Ope Williams declared his team’s readiness to take on any opposition at the 4th Corporate Soccer Games billed for today and tomorrow at the football field of the Nigeria Ports Authority Health Center in Surulere, Lagos.

Williams made this known at the draws of the Corporate Soccer Championship held at the NPA Medical Center Hall on Wednesday.

Galaticos seeded in Group B alongside three times runners-up, Chevron and Emerging Marketers have their sights set on winning the championship.

“We are a group of entrepreneurs who just play football for fun, but we are adding the competitive edge this time because we did not go far in previous seasons and we want to represent Nigeria at the World Corporate Soccer Games in Canada”.

In the other group, defending champions, Etisalat will face debutants, NPA and Stanbic IBTC Bank.

Representative from Stanbic, Segun Oyeneye, disclosed that they chose to participate in the tournament because of the pedigree and competitiveness that comes with the competition, noting that first place is the target of him and his team mates.

“We are just coming off the heels of the Nigerian Bankers Games, so we are match-ready as we speak. Our goal is simply to win the competition”.

The two-day event will kick start with six games on the opening day while the semi finals and finals will take place on November 20, at the same venue.
