Yinka Kolawole in Osogbo
There was pandemonum in the late hours of the democracy day when a reportedly drunk man who drove in a black SUV hit the daughter of a woman who sells provisions by the roadside, killing her on the spot.
The accident occurred along Capital Hotel in Osogbo.
The man who was said to have had his two kids and his wife in the car at the time, reportedly drove out of the hotel and turned to the opposite side of the road where the tragedy was said to have happened.
A trader who deals in all kinds of vegetables, Mallam Nasir, said he was standing close to the deceased while he was about to purchase a voucher but that no sooner had he moved than the reckless driver rammed into the deceased.
He said, ” I am very sure he was drunk yesterday. After the girl was crushed, the drunkard came out inquiring if he had killed someone.”
