Fika/Fune, Yobe State – April 29, 2025

Hon. Engr. Muhammad Buba Jajere (MBJ), member representing Fika/Fune Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has announced the commencement of stipend payments under the MBJ Scholarship Program. Beginning today, Tuesday, April 29, 2025, the first batch of 200 verified beneficiaries will start receiving their scholarship alerts.

The scholarship scheme, aimed at supporting students from the Fika/Fune Federal Constituency, was launched to promote equal access to educational opportunities across the 23 political wards of the constituency. An online application portal was introduced to ensure transparency and inclusiveness, allowing eligible tertiary students to submit their applications with ease.

According to the scholarship secretariat, payment of ₦30,000 will be disbursed to each student in verified batches of 200 until all verified candidates have been paid.

“So far, only four institutions have completed the verification process of applicants’ credentials,” a statement from the MBJ Scholarship Program reads. These institutions include:

Federal College of Education (Technical), Potiskum

Federal Polytechnic, Damaturu

Federal University, Gashua

Yobe State University, Damaturu

The program emphasized that only students whose academic records have been duly verified by their respective institutions will be considered eligible for the scholarship.

Further batches will follow as additional institutions complete the necessary verifications. Hon. Jajere expressed his gratitude to students and institutions for their cooperation and urged patience as the process continues.

With this initiative, Hon. Engr. Jajere reaffirms his unwavering commitment to investing in the future of Fika/Fune through education—empowering young minds to rise above financial limitations and strive for academic excellence.
